Beyond the address, keep it simple

A disposable email keeps your real address in your hands

When you sign up, download a resource, or complete a one-time verification, most websites only need to reach you once. Tempsender creates a random email address and keeps the messages in your current browser. No new account is needed, and you do not have to hand over your everyday email to a service you will use only once.

The expiry is not a vague promise

Three hours to start, up to one day

People often call every disposable email a “10-minute email,” but lifespans vary. New addresses here last 3 hours by default, making them useful for delayed messages. Each extension adds time, but the total lifespan from creation never exceeds 24 hours.

3h

Default window

The countdown starts as soon as the address is created—enough for most sign-ups, tests, and confirmation flows.

+3h

Extend as needed

If your task is not finished, extend the same address without losing the messages already received.

24h

Maximum lifespan

The address cannot be extended beyond this limit. Important communication should not depend on a short-lived inbox.

When is it worth isolating an address?

Give short-term connections a short-term inbox

A disposable email is ideal when you only need to receive one message, not for every kind of communication. Consider how long the relationship will last before choosing an anonymous address, and avoid locking an important account to an address that is about to expire.

01 / Verification

Test a sign-up flow and receive a verification code

Developers can check email templates, and users can try a product they may not continue using—all with a disposable inbox. For banking, payments, government services, or account recovery, use a real email address you can control long term.

02 / Downloads

Get resources you only need once

White papers, discount codes, and one-time downloads often require an email first. A random address keeps follow-up marketing out of your main inbox. If the resource is sent as an attachment, use a forwarding alias instead, since disposable email does not retain attachments.

03 / Trials

Compare multiple tools without mixing notifications

Use a different address for each trial to make follow-up messages easier to identify. Do not repeatedly use it to bypass platform limits or to evade service rules.

04 / Communities

Join a one-off event or temporary discussion

Online events lasting only a few hours rarely need a permanent contact address. If organizers will share results days later, create a permanent forwarding alias that you can pause.

Receive mail in three steps

How to receive email with a disposable address

  1. 1

    Copy the full address

The address is generated when the page opens. Click Copy and paste it into the target website, then check that the domain and every character are present before submitting.

  2. 2

Return to the inbox and wait

New messages appear automatically. Email queues can cause delays, so wait a minute or two if a verification code does not arrive immediately.

  3. 3

Open the message to read it

On desktop, the message opens on the right; on mobile, it opens in a full-screen reader. When you are finished, there is no need to clear the inbox—just let the address expire naturally.

Real privacy is not hiding everything; it is not leaving a permanent door open for a one-time connection.

What to do when a disposable email receives no messages

Check first, then resend. Make sure the submitted address exactly matches the one on this page, click Refresh manually, and check that the countdown is still running. Repeatedly requesting a code may trigger sender rate limits; waiting a few minutes usually works better than clicking again and again.

Recognize platform restrictions. Some websites block known disposable email domains or deliver only to verified business domains. If you see a clear “disposable email not supported” message, changing addresses usually will not help—use your real email or a long-term forwarding alias instead.

  1. A

    Was the address entered completely?

After copying, check that there are no extra spaces at either end. After refreshing the page, do not keep using an old address that has been replaced.

  2. B

Is the sender still in the queue?

Routine notifications may arrive later than verification codes. Manual refresh cannot make the sender deliver sooner, but it can fetch messages that have already arrived.

  3. C

    Has the inbox expired?

When the countdown reaches zero, the old credential is automatically replaced with a new email address. Messages sent to the old address do not move to the new one.

Consider how long the connection will last

Disposable email and permanent forwarding are different tools

You only need one message

A random address requires no sign-up and works well for codes, short trials, and one-time notifications. A disposable inbox does not retain attachments, and the expired address cannot be used for account recovery.

Use disposable email

You may need to receive messages later

A permanent forwarding alias sends incoming mail to your real inbox, can be paused or resumed, and keeps an archive of the last 30 days. It is better suited to subscriptions, shopping, and services that may contact you again.

Frequently asked questions

What to know before using a disposable email

Can a disposable email receive verification codes?

Yes. The message appears in the list when it arrives, but the sender may block disposable domains. Do not rely on an expiring address for important accounts.

How long does a disposable email last?

New addresses last 3 hours by default and can be extended as needed, up to 24 hours total from creation. The page shows the remaining time with a precise countdown.

Can I download attachments from a disposable inbox?

No. The inbox shows when the original message includes an attachment, but it does not save the attachment itself. Messages over 100MB are also rejected. Use permanent forwarding when you need attachments.

Will refreshing the page change my address?

No. A valid credential is saved in both the link and your browser, so refreshing or returning later restores the same inbox. A new address is created only after expiry or when you change it yourself.

Does an anonymous email mean complete anonymity?

No. It mainly separates your email address and does not promise to hide your browser, network, or other information you submit to third-party websites. Use it lawfully and follow the target website's rules.

When should I use a forwarding alias?

Use a long-term forwarding alias whenever you need account recovery, attachments, or continued contact after several days. Compare both options in the Identity Choice Lab.
